No raisins pretending to be chocolate to ruin these oatmeal cookies! They have a great chewy texture and the addition of cinnamon gives them a little extra flavour that make them all that much better than a normal chocolate chip cookie.

1/2 cup - softened butter
1/2 cup - packed brown sugar
1/4 cup - white sugar
1 - egg
1 tsp - vanilla extract
2/3 cup - all purpose flour
1/4 tsp - baking soda
1/2 tsp - cinnamon
1/2 tsp - salt
1 1/2 cups - quick cooking oats
1/2 cup - semisweet chocolate chips
Steps
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C)
In a large bowl cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth
Add in the egg and vanilla and beat together until combined
In a separate bowl mix together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt (this ensures the dry ingredients are distributed evenly)
Stir the flour mixture into the the creamed mixture until fully incorporated
Add in the oats and chocolate chips and mix togehter
spoon portions onto parchment lined baking sheets (you should get about 24 cookies from this dough recipe)
Bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes
Allow the cookies to cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to your mouth or a cooling rack
Notes
Excess cookie dough can be pre portioned onto wax sheets, put in freezer bags, and frozen until needed
